Being a country still at infant stage of horticultural development, Vietnam can be a growing destination for Dutch technology and input supplies such as seeds and ware potatoes. In addition, Vietnam could also become an important regional base for those Dutch horticulture companies who want to supply the Asian market with horticulture products. Vietnam can increase its horticulture sector competitiveness by using Dutch knowledge, trade networks, technologies, research, education and training programs, institutional setup of research, extension and food safety control. Production and processing are still done with simple facilities and equipments and modern technologies are rare.
