Due to rapid and ongoing urbanization and industrialization, improved municipal and industrial waste water treatment has emerged as a critical need in Vietnam. Currently, most of the cities and provinces have no centralized waste water treatment plants. Both storm water and households waste water are commonly discharged through combined and outdated drainage systems into canals and rivers without treatment. There are opportunities for Dutch suppliers in both municipal and industrial markets. The Dutch technology for waste water treatment is highly appreciated in Vietnamese market. There also remain opportunities for the Dutch companies that have specific and innovative technologies to treat effluent from craft villages.
